Move from passive tutorial watching to the practice that creates usable skills.
Tutorials are useful introductions. The trap is mistaking recognition for understanding. Seeing someone solve a problem can feel familiar; solving a variation yourself is what builds skill.
Pause earlier
Before the instructor reveals the next step, pause and predict it. Write your answer, sketch your idea, or try the command. Even a wrong attempt gives you something specific to correct.
Change one variable
After following a lesson, alter one part: change the colours, add a feature, use a different dataset, or solve the same problem with a different example. This is where copying becomes learning.
Explain it simply
If you can explain an idea without repeating the tutorial’s wording, you are beginning to own it. Use a note, voice memo, or message to a learning friend.
Use TechDojo lessons as a launchpad, not a finish line. The most important screen is often the one where you close the tutorial and try it yourself.
